“After coming top in the regional heats I felt quite a bit of pressure to get a win in the finals and the step up in difficulty was a bit of a surprise, but I am very happy to have won and extremely relieved.
“The win has given me a little confidence boost, but the biggest thing about it for me is all the support and messages I’ve got from my lecturers, colleagues and friends. Everyone has been really supportive the whole way through and I’m glad to be able to win it for Space and Bath College!”

“It’s given me so much more confidence in the workplace. It was definitely worth taking part for that reason alone, but I’ve also been able to meet lots of people from this industry, which has given me an opportunity to learn from the best and make some useful connections.
“Being able to say that I won the gold medal is a great feeling, especially because it’s a tough competition that really does test your skills and knowledge. It’s a chance to show others what you can do, and having got through it successfully will stand me in good stead for my future career.”

“I was up against some strong competition; there were so many people that entered to compete in SkillFRIDGE so to be crowned as the gold medal winner was amazing.
“I think it’s a great thing to have on my CV which will hopefully open doors for me going forward in my career. I’d definitely say to others considering the competition to give it a go!”
